The highly anticipated Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2 might not be the only Legend Of Zelda game Nintendo has planned for 2022, at least if a new rumor is of any indication. The original Breath Of The Wild wowed Nintendo Switch owners back in 2017 thanks to its vast open-world setting that was filled with minigames and hidden details that fans are still uncovering nearly five years later. Breath Of The Wild’s overwhelming success and near-universal acclaim meant that a follow-up was probably inevitable, and Nintendo would confirm that BOTW 2 is in fact on the way during last year’s E3 2021 livestream.
However, further details about the upcoming Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild sequel have been scarce since its reveal trailer last summer, to the point where Nintendo is supposedly keeping its official title under wraps to avoid potential spoilers. It had been speculated that more of the tentatively named BOTW 2 would be shown off during last week’s February Nintendo Direct livestream, but this would turn out to not be the case. Some fans are even starting to wonder if Breath Of The Wild 2 might be delayed until 2023, but if it is, Nintendo could still have a new Legend Of Zelda game ready for release this year.
