Cheat codes have long since gone out of style. A lot of that has to do with how most games have some sort of multiplayer functionality which would be entirely ruined if one player was cheating. The original Bloodborne had some cheat codes if you were a PlayStation Plus subscriber, but otherwise, there was no way to cheat in the game without hacking.
Bloodborne PSX, on the other hand, is an old-school PlayStation 1-style demake of the PlayStation 4 classic, and what PS1 game didn’t come with cheats? Bloodborne PSX comes with several cheat codes that wildly alter its gameplay, and one of those codes lets you alter the “You Died” message to be whatever you want.

Why would you want to change Bloodborne’s death screen? Maybe you need some personalized motivation to do better next time. Or maybe you think the game could be somewhat more informative than reminding you of your own death.
Twitter users have been offering their replacements for “You Died” since the game’s release. Some fans have gotten really creative, while others are self-aware enough to know what message would be the most personally motivating.

We've been looking forward to Bloodborne PSX for some time now, and it looks like we weren't the only ones. The game quickly amassed over 100,000 downloads less than 24 hours after arriving on Itch.io, and it topped 200,000 downloads in less than four days. Someone has even set a speedrun record of just 14 minutes thanks to some skilled boss fights and two newly discovered level skips.
