The upcoming Blade movie will make vampires a big part of the MCU going forward, and the movie's potential biggest plot hole can be easily explained. Mahershala Ali made his off-screen MCU debut as Blade in the post-credits scene of Marvel's Eternals. While the scene only hinted at the more supernatural side of the MCU, Blade's solo movie will no doubt put vampires front and center, which raises the plot hole of why they've been largely missing from the MCU thus far.
While no vampires have been seen in the MCU yet (with Morbius, of course, being set in Sony's Spider-Man Universe), there have been blink-and-you'll-miss-them references prior to Blade's debut. In Thor: Ragnorok Korg jokes that a large wooden fork was "not really useful unless you're fighting off three vampires that are huddled together." Loki also acknowledged the existence of vampires, and that they're potentially just as powerful and dangerous as the Kree and Titans. Phase 4 of the MCU is embracing its darker side with Moon Knight, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and the upcoming Halloween special Werewolf By Night, and Blade's vampire-hunting will continue Marvel’s foray into horror.

Blade's potential plot hole is that if the MCU's vampires have been around for a while and are so dangerous and powerful, why haven't they shown up yet?
