Game Science’s Black Myth: Wukong is getting a new update today, but it’s not the usual bug fixes and improvements. It adds two new challenge modes – Return of Rivals and Gauntlet of Legends – essentially boss rematch and boss rush. The former lets you battle against any defeated boss at three different difficulties.
The latter allows for facing “multiple opponents in succession,” some sporting new moves. Once again, it depends on vanquished bosses, and players can use curses for a more challenging experience. Completing the Gauntlet rewards a new medicine, drink, soaks, curios, equipment and weapons.
Then there’s the Journeyer’s Chart, which seems to be a map. You’ll get the first one for Black Wind Mountain after meeting the Keeper. Subsequent maps are available at the Shrine after entering new areas. Those celebrating Chinese New Year can also claim the Armor Set of Opulence from the Shrine and listen to the game’s soundtrack (barring a few affected by copyright).
Check out some of the patch notes below. Black Myth: Wukong is available for PS5 and PC, with over 20 million copies sold. Read our review here, where we awarded it a ten out of ten.
