The first post-launch update for Black Myth: Wukong is available to download now on PS5. Patch 1.0.8 weighs in at a reasonable 1.1GB, but players hoping for improvements to technical performance will likely be left disappointed.
The update focuses on fixes for a range of more specific issues, many of which are related to gameplay. We'd assume that most players won't have even noticed a lot of these problems, but at least they're being addressed.
Still, the hope is that developer Game Science can get Wukong running better on Sony's current-gen system. All three of its graphical modes have hiccups on PS5, with even the recommended 'Performance' mode suffering from clumsy frame generation, which can result in input lad. Rough, but — fingers crossed — fixable.

Robert (or Rob if you're lazy) is an assistant editor of Push Square, and has been a fan of PlayStation since the 90s, when Tekken 2 introduced him to the incredible world of video games. He still takes his fighting games seriously, but RPGs are his true passion. The Witcher, Persona, Dragon Quest, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy, Trails, Tales — he's played 'em all. A little too much, some might say.
Is there any mention of a physical release? I've been tempting to buy it but at the same time I'm hoping for a eventual physical release like Alan Wake 2.
Going to wait for the “PS5 Pro enhanced version”
It’s on my radar waiting for performance patches for real 60fps hopefully.
Or PS5 Pro version.
That “Input Lad” is always causing problems
