boasts over 90 boss fights throughout the whole game, and some of these are easier than others; the fight with Erlang Shen and the Four Heavenly Kings in the game's secret ending is one of the trickiest. Once you unlock the ending, you'll have to face Erlang twice in two different forms, so it's best to be prepared for each fight before going in. On top of these two fights, one more fight against four, simultaneous bosses will stand in your way of beating the secret ending.
Erlang Shen is a god associated with Daoism, and is associated with water and the subduing of demons. In he was responsible for punishing Sun Wukong for the chaos he brought to the heavens in his quest. He takes on a similar role in stepping in to prevent the Destined One from escaping his fate as the next Monkey King.
Erlang, in his first form as The Sacred Divinity, can be dealt with easier if you focus on staggering him rather than going for a full-on attack. Using theA Pluck of Many spell, pop out a bunch of clones that will help you get continuous hits off on him, which will increase his stagger meter pretty consistently. Once he's staggered, hit him with your strongest attacks before he rights himself.
Something to note is that Erlang has the power to dismiss your transformations, so no matter which one you try, no transformation will be effective against him.
Erlang also uses quite a bit of lightning-based magic in this fight, which will inflict Shock and cause you to take more damage than normal. To cure it, you should stock up on Shock-Quelling Powder or spend some points on Bane Mitigation. The Powders will outright cure you and add some Shock resistance, while Bane Mitigation helps to resist each of the Four Banes.
As for Erlang's actual attacks, none of them provide enough of a window to attack during the combo itself. Instead, wait until after the combo is over to make your move. Be patient, and use your Cloud Step or Rock Solid to escape if you get trapped in one of the
