It's official: Black Myth: Wukong is a huge hit. Game Science's Journey to the West-inspired action RPG has now sold an incredible 10 million copies across PS5 and PC platforms.
The studio shared the news today on its social channels:
For it to reach sales of 10 million would be more than enough of an accomplishment, but for the game to do so in just its first few days on the market is pretty staggering. To put that in some sort of perspective, Helldivers 2, one of the best-selling games of 2024, sold «around a million» in a similar timeframe.
Also noted in the above graphic is that concurrent players across all platforms has reached a peak of three million. This is quite interesting because, as seen over the last few days, the game reached about 2.4 million concurrent players on Steam alone, meaning PS5 users contributed «only» 600,000 or so to the total. The vast majority of those players are Chinese, though, where the PS5 platform isn't as prevalent as it is elsewhere (though this game is responsible for moving the needle in that regard recently).
