The launch of WWE 2K22 has gone much smoother versus 2019's WWE 2K20, a game rife with glitches and balancing issues for months after its release. That said, no game is immune from post-launch bugs as there are just some that can only be caught when a game is out in the wild, and this has been the same for 2K Games and Visual Concepts. One player got to witness such a glitch mid-match, which saw their character go directly into the ring post in a painful-looking manner.
WWE 2K22 is the latest in the long line of games in WWE's history and the latest in the nearly 10-year partnership between the pro wrestling giant and 2K Games. The game saw the return of a general manager mode in MyGM, the first since 2007's WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008, where players can get their chance at booking one of WWE's four brands. It also featured the biggest launch roster of any WWE game, coming in at around 165 playable wrestlers ranging from current stars, legends, and even a few who are wrestling elsewhere.
WWE 2K22 Player Makes Dr Disrespect in the Game
One of these former-WWE wrestlers was the focus of TikTok user BearDaddyGames during a match where they were playing as a custom Chris Jericho, clad in AEW gear, against wrestling legend Terry Funk. After sending Funk flying out of the ring and to the floor, Bear takes Jericho to the top turnbuckle to perform some maneuver on the prone Funk. However, the move does not go as intended as a glitch causes Jericho to go flying crotch-first into the ring post during a leg drop, though the game still reads it as connecting with Funk.
