Better Call Saul season 6's «Hit & Run» finally pays off the prequel's office hints. In the episode's final scene, Jimmy takes Kim to visit an office available for let — the instantly recognizable strip mall spot as seen throughout Breaking Bad. The viewing goes as you'd expect, with Jimmy appreciating the cheap and cheerful vibe, and Kim slightly concerned about the random toilet idly loitering in the center of the room. Ultimately, Jimmy wins her around, promising the office is just a temporary arrangement until he finds something better. Once again, that's a temporary arrangement...

Clearly, Jimmy is a tad optimistic here. From Breaking Bad, we know Saul Goodman operates from this same location right up until he leaves New Mexico and changes his identity to Gene. As such, Better Call Saul poses a crucial question — why does Jimmy's «temporary» office become not-so-temporary? The simplest explanation is that between Better Call Saul season 6 and Breaking Bad, Jimmy simply can't afford anywhere better.
