DICE has revealed plans for Battlefield 2042’s first updates of the year.
Launching at 8am UTC on Thursday, update 3.2 will include “a handful of small fixes and improvements to the game focused around stability” (see full patch notes below).
Alongside the update’s launch, DICE said it will be making improvements and adjustments to how players earn XP when playing Battlefield Portal, including increasing the per minute XP cap across all modes to 300.
Battlefield 2042 update 3.3 is then planned for release in mid to late February.
Alongside other features that have been in the works since DICE resumed work after the holidays, it will include a refreshed scoreboard UI “with a new panel that showcases how players are stacking up across the server”, with further scoreboard updates to follow at a later date.
DICE also said that matchmaking preferences in All-Out Warfare and support for in-game voice chat are still on its radar.
“No updates on these two today but we wanted to reassure you all that these are still front of mind and we’ll have more to show and share on these topics further down the line.”
Battlefield 2042’s final update of 2021 launched on December 9. It improved bullet hit registration consistency and included balance changes for bullet dispersion and recoil.
It also fixed a rare bug which could result in players appearing invisible to enemies, as well as several issues with grenades and launchers.
Coming later this year, Battlefield 2042 Season 1 will include a new Specialist, Battle Pass and Portal content.
DICE has also confirmed it’s working on a new Battlefield 2042 map called Exposure.
