As his explosive confrontation with Deathstroke looms, Batman is using the event to make good with his wayward son, Damian. The young Robin drifted apart from his father after a particularly stressful period of time that ended with Damian retiring from his role as Batman’s partner. Now, new art revealed by «Shadow War» architect, Joshua Williamson, shows the first steps of Bruce attempting to repair his relationship with his son.
Damian Wayne has been serving in the role as Robin since Batman and Robin #1 by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely. Though a more brutal Robin, the minor Wayne thrived under the tutelage of his mentor, Dick Grayson, and later his father. However, Damian began to crack under the pressure after witnessing the death of beloved family member Alfred at the hands of Bane. Things only got worse for the hero when he was confronted by his father over Damian's imprisoning of villains in a secret prison during his time with the Teen Titans. Damian decided to renounce his partnership with Batman and the relationship between the two has been cold for some time.

Some big changes may be on the horizon for the Wayne family. Writer Joshua Williamson took to Twitter and enticed fans with art from the upcoming Shadow War Alpha one-shot. The pages from artist Viktor Bogdanovic shows a night in Gotham with an unmasked Damian perched on a building staring at his father on the building across from him. There is no dialogue and no action; just the two stalwart Waynes saying everything with one exchange. The tension is palpable between the father and son, who have both been through quite a number of adventures in their time apart. Fans were ecstatic
