In a recent post made via Instagram, the directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah shared an emotional ode to the film's cast, crew, and fans.

“We are saddened and shocked by the news. We still can’t believe it. As directors, it is critical that our work be shown to audiences, and while the film was far from finished, we wish that fans all over the world would have had the opportunity to see and embrace the final film themselves. Maybe one day they will insha’Allah,”
The heartbreaking sentiment continued, as they commended the films crew and cast members like Michael Keaton, JK Simmons, Brendan Fraiser, Jacob Scipio, Corey Johnson, Rebecca Front, and lastly Batgirl herself Leslie Grace, who they applauded for playing the role with “so much passion, dedication, and humanity.” They ended their message by stating that they've been huge fans of the Batman franchise since they were both very young and that they still feel humbled to have been gifted with the opportunity to be brought into the DCEU that they admire so dearly even though it was short-lived, ending the post with “Batgirl For Life”.
