Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie are still revered today by many fans from the N64 era as two of the greatest platformers of all time, with the iconic bear and bird duo taking center stage. Though there are some smaller sequels to the games (Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge or Nuts & Bolts), no true sequel truly made it into the hands of the fans.
Project Dream, fans of the Banjo games and online content creators, are the ones responsible for making the remastered trailer for Banjo-Kazooie from the previous year, containing gorgeous, sweeping views of the original game with heightened visuals and graphical fidelity. In a similar fashion, the same team brings forth a conceptual trailer for «Banjo-Threeie,» the much-desired sequel to the first two games.
Banjo-Kazooie is Available Now for Nintendo Switch Online
The video is similar to the team's previous work, showing sweeping visuals of game worlds in stunning resolution, but also includes many other joyous details. The trailer shows transformations, mechanics that existed in the previous games, but takes them a step further, even showing Banjo riding a wooden toy train, which does give off Diddy Kong Racing vibes. The music combined with the incredibly rendered game worlds that are so detailed and beautiful gives the trailer a sort of mystical feel as if the story of Banjo and Kazooie is going to pick right back up where it left off.
This project comes a full 24 years after Banjo-Kazooie, and it looks like the titular duo is, once again, taking on the witch Gruntilda as she gathers a following of minions to do her evil bidding. The team has lovingly recreated different assets and other recognizable features to play on fans' nostalgia and bring them back to the N64 days.
