Beating Ketheric Thorm in is a vital part of Act 2, which allows you to progress into the third and final act of the game developed by Larian Studios. The boss fight, however, is not too easy and is actually composed of three very distinct phases, all of which require a certain strategy to be executed. Depending on how you played through Act 1 and everything that led up to the encounter with Ketheric Thorm in , this may actually be the first huge boss fight of the game.

Ketheric Thorm is a high half-elf that has taken control of the Shadow-Cursed Lands and, in fact, inflicted the curse upon the entire region. He is leading the cult of the Absolute from the Moonrise Towers, just south of Reithwin Town. Ketheric is said to be immortal – though his invulnerability stems from his captured asset, Dame Aylin, also known as the Nightsong in . Before facing the villain, you need to delve into Shar’s Gauntlet and, deep within, find the character. She is inside the Shadowfell in , and releasing her (or killing her), allows you to face Ketheric Thorm and strike him down.

The first encounter with Ketheric Thorm is at the top of the Moonrise Towers in following the release or death of Dame Aylin. The ideal strategy here is to dedicate one long-range specialist like Astarion to deal with the multiple mobs from afar, while the rest of the party deals as much damage as they can to Ketheric himself.
