With Babylon's Fall set to be released at the beginning of next month, the developers are publishing a brand-new trailer focused on combat. The short video aims to introduce soon-to-be players to the game's fighting mechanics, which make up a central part of the title's gameplay.
Developed by Platinum Games, a studio renowned for famous titles such as Bayonetta, Vanquish, and Nier: Automata, Babylon's Fall is an upcoming action role-playing game played in third person. Players must fight their way through the various levels of the Ziggurat, an enemy-ridden tower, doing so by wielding a complex array of powers and weaponry, alone or with up to three other gamers.

The new trailer gives a look at several combat-related parts of Babylon's Fall, starting with the different kinds of weapons the players can wield. Swords are perfect for speedy combos, while hammers have the ability to charge up a shot and inflict massive damage. For a ranged approach, bows and magical rods can lay down death from afar, while also offering possibilities of buffs and debuffs to nearby characters. Finally, shields can not only block strikes, but also parry blows or taunt enemies, claiming a central role in every co-op party.
Babylon's Fall's main innovation, however, is the so-called Gideon Coffin, a magical contraption that allows every player to employ special abilities.
