This has produced a variety of media over the years, including comics, to a live-action adaptation of Avatar on Netflix, spin-offs, and video games. Video games in particular for the franchise were developed by third party companies to mixed review scores.
The last video game developed with the Avatar license was a set of Legend of Korra-based adventures published by Activision in 2014. One of which was a third-person beat-em-up action-adventure by PlatinumGames for major consoles, while the 3DS received a strategy-RPG in a similar vein to Fire Emblem. Both of these games posted similarly mixed scores, with no further games ever since. However, reportedly new AAA video games set in the world of Avatar are in development.
