Ather is coming up with some big upgrades to its 450 series scooters. Originally launched in 2018, the Ather 450 Plus and Ather 450X have been long due for an upgrade, especially after Ola’s arrival into the space with the Ola S1 Pro. A new report now says that Ather is planning to bring upgrades to both the models, and the leaked documents have revealed some massive range enhancements on these scooters. Get this – the new Ather 450 Plus could for as long as 146 Kms on a single charge! That outclasses the Ola S1 Pro.

The current models have their electric motors rated at 3.3kW/5.4kW (Nominal/Peak) for the 450 Plus and 3.3kW/6kW for the 450X.
With the bigger batteries and newer motor, the Ather 450 Plus is said to go up to 146 Kms and the Ather 450X could go up to 108 Kms. This means that the base 450 Plus could be aimed at those needing an electric scooter with more range and lesser focus on performance, whereas the 450X could be aimed at performance primarily and may have a lesser kerb weight.
But that’s not all. The documents say that Ather is changing the dimensions of the scooter as well. The scooter will see a wheelbase increase by 9mm whereas the height will see an increase by 11mm.
