Assassin's Creed Valhalla was a huge game already upon its 2020 release, but Ubisoft's not done with it just yet, as it's getting another substantial content update on September 27 with Update 1.6.1. Update 1.6.1 is likely one of Valhalla's last major content releases, but the developers are making sure that players have plenty to do for some time yet, as it's supposed to continue one of last year's storylines.
Specifically, Assassin's Creed Valhalla's update 1.6.1 includes a direct follow-up to last year's Tombs of the Fallen DLC and a potentially meta-defining new Ravensthorpe building, allowing players to optimize their runes however they see fit. The update will also serve as a platform to drive 2022's Oskoreia festival in Valhalla, where players can participate in unique time-limited activities, earn rewards, and more.

Ubisoft had previously provided some information about Assassin's Creed Valhalla's new settlement addition, and it seems that the long-awaited Rune Forge is being made available as part of update 1.6.1. The details are, of course, still rather scarce, but it seems self-apparent that the building will allow players to fine-tune their rune loadouts for endgame progression. High-tier loadouts may, in fact, be necessary for the other half of this update, which is the second Tombs of the Fallen DLC.
