The first major content update for Disney Dreamlight Valley is released next week, Gameloft has confirmed.
In a tweet on the game’s official Twitter account, it was confirmed that the first update will be released on Wednesday, October 19.
According to Gameloft, the first update will add Scar as a villager, and will continue the game’s main story.
It will also include a new Star Path, meaning players will be able to unlock new time-limited items.
Star Paths are the equivalent of Battle Passes in Dreamlight Valley. Players buy them with in-game currency (either by earning it or buying it with real money) and are then given access to a group of exclusive items.
By carrying out various tasks over the course of the Star Path’s duration, players can earn tokens which are then used to buy the exclusive items.
The first Star Path – which started when the game launched and ended earlier this week – had a Pixar theme and included such items as a bed shaped like Lightning McQueen, an Incredibles costume and a statue of the house from Up.

Last month Gameloft said the update will also include an improved photo mode, new avatar poses and bug fixes. “We’ve been blown away by the excitement you’ve brought to the valley, but also know there are still issues to be tackled,” it said at the time.
Aside from the update, Gameloft also said it’s hard at work on fixes for three high priority issues – progress loss, missing Founder’s Pack rewards and console crashes.
Players should expect updates on these in the coming weeks as Gameloft gets closer to locking fixes. In total, it said a total of over 40 fixes are coming, for problems including quest progression
