According to a PlayStation database listing, Ubisoft will roll out a 60fps patch for Assassin's Creed Origins in the very near future. Notably, this does not mark the first mention of a current-gen upgrade for the franchise's Ancient Egypt-set adventure. Ubisoft celebrated AC Day late last year with news that its development teams were investigating 60fps support for AC Origins. While the announcement lacked specifics, the tease itself managed to excite many a fan.
Assassin's Creed fans have longed for a framerate boost since the start of this console generation nearly two years ago. Shortly after Assassin's Creed Valhalla hit store shelves, Ubisoft developers unleashed a post-launch update that introduced 60fps gameplay options on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. AC Odyssey, which originally launched in 2018, similarly received a 60fps boost in the 1.6.0 update that went live in August 2021. Naturally, it didn't take long for fans of AC Origins to express their interest in a patch that enhances the game's framerate capabilities on the newer hardware. It now seems as though the wait for such an improvement will soon come to an end.
