Ubisoft has confirmed plans to release a new-gen update for Assassin’s Creed Origins on June 2.
From Thursday players will be able to experience the 2017 release in 60fps when played on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S via backwards compatibility.
Last August, Ubisoft added 60fps support for 2018’s Assassin’s Creed Odyssey on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
And in December, it said it was looking into adding 60fps support for Assassin’s Creed Origins.
Assassin’s Creed Origins will join the Xbox Game Pass library for cloud, console and PC on June 7.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members will also receive the Assassin’s Creed Origins: Deluxe Pack, which includes the Ambush at Sea mission, the Desert Cobra pack (including one outfit, two legendary weapons, one legendary shield and one mount) and three Ability points.
Bloomberg claimed in February that Ubisoft was planning to release a smaller-scale, stealth-focused Assassin’s Creed game this year or in 2023.
Codenamed Rift and starring Assassin’s Creed Valhalla‘s Basim, the title was originally planned as an expansion for the most recent series entry before being spun into a standalone game last year, it said.
Assassin’s Creed Rift will reportedly be released before the officially announced Assassin’s Creed Infinity, which is a collaboration between Ubisoft Quebec (Odyssey) and Ubisoft Montreal (Origins and Valhalla).
It’s been claimed that Assassin’s Creed Infinity will be a massive online game set across multiple historical periods, and one that that evolves over time as a live service.
