The upcoming Arrowverse spinoff show Gotham Knightshas cast Misha Collins as its Harvey Dent. Collins famously played the fan-favorite character Castiel on The CW’s flagship series Supernatural. The actor debuted on the show in season 4 and remained a principal cast member until the show’s season 15 finale last year. Collins’ other roles include Tony in the 1999 film Girl, Interrupted and Eliot Ness in NBC’s time-travel serial Timeless.
The CW’s latest DC-related project Gotham Knights is set to reinvent the Batman mythos for the small screen. Supposedly loosely linked to the network’s long-running Arrowverse shows including The Flash and Superman & Lois, Gotham Knights is expected to distance itself from the Gotham City that already exists in the current show Batwoman. The new series, which shares its name with an upcoming videogame based on the Bat-Family, follows Bruce Wayne’s adopted son teaming up with the children of several famous Gotham villains to protect the city in the wake of the caped crusader’s death. Unlike the game, the series is due to introduce new characters and deviate more from the mainline comics continuity.

Now, the CW has supposedly cast the first of its iconic Batman villains. In a tweet on his personal account, Collins confirmed that he is the new Harvey Dent AKA Two-Face. Posting an image of Aaron Eckhart’s portrayal of the tragically fallen ally in The Dark Knight, Collins jokes that he has “asked if my version of the character could be wearing a bridge trench coat,” referencing the costume he wore in Supernatural for many years. The actor confirms his attachment to the new CW show via hashtags including “#GothamKnights” and “#newTVgig”.
