A successor to the Apple Watch Ultra 2 did not materialize, but those who have yet to upgrade to the company’s top-end smartwatch, because they wanted a new finish, will be ecstatic to learn that the high-end wearable has been announced in a fresh Satin Black color option. If you were expecting anything else from this unveiling, we have to be the bearer of bad news and inform you that the hardware will remain consistent with the previous versions that were showcased last year.
Aside from the new Satin Black finish, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 has also arrived with a new Milanese Loop that is made of a woven titanium mesh that features a parachute buckle, which delivers that audible ‘click’ sound, informing the wearer that it has been secured in place. This accessory is not just available in Satin Black, but also in Natural. Apple has renewed its business relationship with luxury brand Hermès to introduce a specific version of the Apple Watch Ultra 2.
Customers will now get an exclusive watch face, assuming this addition is at the top of their priorities. Unfortunately, everything else about the Apple Watch Ultra 2 remains the same, such as the chipset, display technology, and, of course, the battery life. Fortunately, the Satin Black finish is said to be more scratch-resistant thanks to a new custom blasting process, so that is a plus for those who have a habit of bumping their shiny smartwatch and getting marks all over it.
The Apple Watch Ultra 2 will start from $799 and can be pre-ordered today. Availability of the device is September 20. However, if you are looking to upgrade to a newer model, we recommend checking out the Apple Watch Series 10, which was also announced during the event.
