No reasons have been given yet behind the price hike but the new prices are now reflected across the Apple Online Store as well as some other retailers. Note that the base 2nd Gen AirPods are exempt from the price hike.

The AirPods 3rd Gen was announced recently and is supposed to be the replacement of the older gen model. While Apple did not give it ANC like some of its competitors, it gave it a new design, improved battery life, support for Spatial Audio.
