The 35W dual USB-C power adapter from Apple could be released soon and alleged images of the device have surfaced on the internet. Information about the charger came to light a few days ago when a screengrab of a support document on Apple's website mentioned the purported dual USB-C charger. Although the support document is no longer available on the company's website, it contained basic instructions on how to use the adapter among other details. It was also reported that the charger will come with GaN technology.
Gallium Nitride (GaN) has been used in LEDs for several years. Recently, the material has found use as semiconductors for charging batteries, replacing Silicon, as GaN is more efficient at converting electricity into power and can handle high voltages. Essentially, GaN chargers can be used for facilitating high charging speeds while maintaining a portable size. As of now, Apple only has one GaN charger in its product lineup — the 140W adapter that comes with the 2021 16-inch MacBook Pro.
