Figuring out how to get to the Apapes Lightroot in can be quite tricky. It's located in a blocked-off area of the Depths and can't be accessed by simply traveling through this lower-tier area of the map. Instead, you'll need to travel to a specific entrance near Hyrule Castle and then make it past the fearsome enemy that guards it.
Lightroots are the lifeblood of 's terrifying Depths, as they brighten up the darkness and act as fast travel points to help Link get around the game's massive map. While many of these Lightroots can be found by simply wandering around, some of them are a little more difficult to reach. A perfect example of this is the Apapes Lightroot, which is separated from the rest of the Depths by a giant wall.
The Apapes Lightroot is located in the Depths beneath the surface level's Sepapa Shrine. This glowing Shrine can be found on the section of land just east of Hyrule Castle, using the coordinates 0221, 1084, -0474.
You'll need to keep your wits about you as 's dreaded Gloom Hands are known to spawn around here. If you've already unlocked the Shrine, fast-travel to begin your search for the Apapes Lightroot.
Although the Sepapa Shrine indicates the exact location of the Apapes Lightroot on the map, you'll need to travel further south along the coast to find the entrance into the Depths. The exact place you're looking for is marked as the 'current location' on the map above.
Jump off the edge of the cliff, deploy Link's glider, turn around, and look for an opening in the cliffside. The current is strong here, so glide inside or dash through the water. You'll discover a new location called Hyrule Castle Moat East Chasm.
Now that you've made it inside Hyrule Castle Moat East Chasm, it's time to dive down into the Depths. Keep diving until the red Gloom that surrounds you starts to disappear, then deploy Link's glider.
