Waven, the upcoming tactical deckbuilding RPG from Ankama Games, has a new demo to download and enjoy this week as part of Steam Next Fest.
The game is set in the same universe as Ankama’s other games, Dofus and Wakfu, and features a similar anime-inspired art style and MMORPG mechanics. The new demo is available to try out now.
The team announced the demo this way:
“?? We're excited for you to play Waven's demo during the Steam Next Fest from June 19 to 26!
You'll be able to try out some of the new features we’ll be revealing very soon…”
So if you're looking to try out the demo during the limited play period, you’ll likely find some as-yet unannounced features.
We previewed Waven several months ago and while Waven is set in the Dofus and Wakfu universe, You won't need to know anything about those games in order to enjoy it. If you were a fan of those games, then this should be even more fun, especially the world and exploration, and of course, the tactical and role-playing elements.
While the Ankama team has not revealed too much about the game’s story, Ankamarevealed that it takes place after disasters in the world and the clans find themselves divided into islands. After some of those big disasters, the people are moving forward. Mysterious enemies appear and you may need to unite them to have a chance. Ankama’s games have colorful and bright styles, but have built deep layers too.
Explore a bit of Waven yourself by heading to the game’s Steam page and downloading the demo through June 26th.
We prepared a list of some of the games to look out for during Steam Next Fest, so even if Waven isn't your cup of tea, there's lots more to check out during the weeklong festival.
