Amnesia: The Bunker’s release date has been pushed back by one week, Fricitional Games has confirmed. The release date was originally May 16th, but the new date is now May 23rd. The reasons given for this delay are twofold. First, the extra week is being used for extra polish, and second, Frictional Games wants to avoid releasing Amnesia: The Bunker in the same week as other big titles. Amnesia: The Bunker will be released for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
In a press release a statement read, “Frictional Games understands the importance of providing players with a high-quality gaming experience and believes that the additional time will ensure the game meets their high standards. Additionally, the revised release date allows players to fully immerse themselves in the Amnesia universe without being overwhelmed by competing game releases.”
The story outline for Amnesia: The Bunker reads, “Set during World War 1, players take on the role of Henri Clement, a French soldier who is left behind by his battalion and finds himself trapped inside an abandoned military bunker. But he’s not alone. A deadly creature stalks the corridors, hunting for its next meal. As Henri, players must navigate the dark and twisted maze of the bunker, using all their skills and resources to outsmart and outrun the beast. But the creature is not the only obstacle Henri must face. The bunker is a labyrinth of twists and turns, filled with traps and other hazards that threaten to end the soldier’s life at every turn.”
