Screen Rant's exclusive American Underdog clip sees Zachary Levi's Kurt Warner arriving at try-outs for the Green Bay Packers in time for the film's digital release. The sports biopic centers on twenty-something Warner as he seeks to make his dreams of being a quarterback in the National Football League come true, struggling to find any team to find interest in taking him on. At the same time, Warner meets and falls in love with single mother Brenda and works with her to build a family together as she supports his career dream.
Zachary Levi leads the cast of American Underdog alongside Anna Paquin as Brenda, Dennis Quaid, Chance Kelly, Cindy Hogan, Ser'Darius Blain, Adam Baldwin, Bruce McGill and Danny Vinson. Development on the biopic was first announced in early 2020 as Andrew and Jon Erwin, the directing duo behind the hit faith-based music biopic I Can Only Imagine, signed on to write and direct and production slated to begin in early 2021 following COVID-related delays. American Underdog arrived in theaters this past Christmas to modest success and is now gearing up to come home to audiences.
