Amazon is introducing a new invite-based ordering system, which might be the perfect solution for the issue of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X scalping. Even now, after more than a year since the consoles were released, users have to rely on restock trackers to learn the exact dates when popular retailers are refreshing their reserves.
The issue of scalping and console shortage is so critical that retailers have to announce special restock events beforehand. Quite recently, GameStop hosted such an event in all of its locations across the United States. The company made it clear that PlayStation 5 restocks in physical stores would only be available for a single day and would contain special bundles rather than just consoles. Additionally, only PowerUp Rewards Pro subscribers were eligible for participating in the event, which allowed the lucky ones to grab a hold of Sony’s newest home console.

It appears that Amazon might have introduced an even better solution to the issue of console scalping by providing a new invite-based ordering system (via TechCrunch). The system in question debuts specifically for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles sold by the retailer, although it is worth noting that buying a new Xbox is now generally far easier than securing a PS5 faster than scalpers.
