The results for the annual DICE awards are in, with God of War: Ragnarok taking home the most awards, and Elden Ring winning game of the year.
We're finally at the end of the awards season for 2022's biggest games, rounding off with the 26th annual DICE Awards, from the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS). On hosting duties this year were IGN's Stella Chung and Kinda Funny's Greg Miller, with 23 different categories covering a wide range of games. Similarly to The Game Awards, God of War: Ragnarok received the highest number of awards in total, racking up a total of seven. But once again Elden Ring achieved the coveted game of the year award, beating out Ragnarok once again.
There was a strong showing from the indie side of things two, with Citizen Sleeper facing off against bigger names like Elden Ring and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 in the role-playing game of the year category (though Elden Ring was the winner there). Stray received a number of nominations too, including game of the year. Not bad for a little cat.
Iconic game designer and Double Fine founder Tim Schafer was also honored by the DICE Awards which inducted him into the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame for his contributions to the game industry over more than 30 years.
