Affliction Warlock: Analysis of the 9.2 Tier Set Bonuses - Consistent AoE Formidable Multi-Target

In last week's PTR build 41827, Affliction Warlock received a major rework and tuning for their 9.2 Tier Set bonus! Our Affliction Warlock Guide Writer, Xyronic, has provided an updated hands-on look at all the recent changes to the Affliction Warlock Tier Set bonus which includes significant proc rate changes to the 4-set.

Affliction Warlock Tier Set Bonus Changes 2-Set:Deliberate Malice — Malefic Rapture's damage is increased by 15% and each cast extends the duration of Corruption, Agony, and Unstable Affliction by 2 sec.When Malefic Rapture extends Absolute Corruption, it instead causes the target to take damage equivalent to a tick of Corruption. 4-set: — While Agony, Corruption, and Unstable Affliction are active, your Drain Soul has a 4% chance10% chanceShadow Bolt has a 20% chance to make your next Malefic Rapture cost no Soul Shards and cast instantly.

Last PTR build, warlock tier sets all received slight changes to either implementation or scaling. There were buffs pretty much across the board, mainly focused on bringing up the strength of the set bonuses. Affliction in particular made out with some pretty nice changes to both quality of life, and also proc rate as seen above. As a reminder, the 2 piece, Deliberate Malice, extends your main three DoTs uptimes by 2 seconds on each target they're active every time you hit Malefic Rapture. Before, this was a little weird for permanent multidotting scenarios because ideally you'd be taking Absolute Corruption in those situations, and thus missing out on 1/3rd of the set bonus benefit.
