Addams Family Spinoff Wednesday Poster Reveals Show's Release Window
Tim Burton's Wednesday now has a release window for Fall 2022, with its eight-episode first season premiering on Netflix. The series will star scream queen Jenna Ortega in the titular role, alongside Catherine Zeta-Jones, Riki Lindhome, Gwendoline Christie, and Christina Ricci. Burton is slated to direct every episode of the first season, with frequent collaborator Danny Elfman co-writing the score.
Wednesday will follow the titular Addams Family daughter as she begins high school, learning to contend with her psychic powers and solve a mystery along the way. Wednesday will be the first adaptation of The Addams Family property that doesn't follow the family as a whole and instead will focus on one member and her personal growth. Ortega has previously discussed the challenges of Wednesday, saying the character needs to undergo an emotional arc, something difficult for the muted and deadpan Wednesday Addams.

Revealed at Licensing Expo and reported by Collider, the series now has a release window of Fall 2022, meaning it could come out anywhere between September and November of this year. There's still no specific date set for the release, but it's likely all episodes will come out at once given Netflix's usual release style. Filming of the series wrapped last March, indicating the series will need the summer to wrap up post-production. See the new poster below:
