Activision Blizzard has announced that the fourth quarter 2021 results will be announced after market close on February 3rd, 2022. However, due to the pending transaction with Microsoft, there will not be a conference call with shareholders or online presentation further breaking down the results, as we've come to expect over the years. The fourth quarter has been turbulent for Activision Blizzard, which saw no major game updates in the last few months, just more unfavorable publicity surrounding the lawsuit.
The last earnings call was quite rocky, with disappointing reveals that Overwatch 2 and Diablo IV were delayed in addition to the bombshell reveal that Blizzard co-lead Jen Oneal was stepping down. This was soon followed by an expose in the Wall Street Journal revealing that Oneal was not paid as much as her male counterpart.
Blizzard Activision Blizzard, Inc.(Nasdaq: ATVI) intends to release its fourth quarter 2021 results after the close of the market on Thursday, February 3, 2022. As announced on January 18, 2022, Microsoft plans to acquire Activision Blizzard for $95.00 per share, in an all-cash transaction valued at $68.7 billion, inclusive of Activision Blizzard's net cash. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and completion of regulatory review and Activision Blizzard's stockholder approval.
