Riot Games' Legends of Runeterra has grown significantly, introducing plenty of new content since its launch in April 2020. The popular card game has seen several new champions from the popular MOBA added, with Udyr being the most recent, new game modes like the fan-favorite 'Path of Champions,' and built a thriving competitive scene. Now, with the game's second anniversary only two months away, Riot Games recently released a new video detailing some of the company's ambitious plans for the game in 2022.
Last year was a major year for Legends of Runeterra, as the game introduced the final two featured regions from League of Legends, Shurima and Bandle City. Last year also saw the highly-anticipated addition of Legends of Runeterra's PvE game mode, 'Path of Champions' which has seen massive success for the game since its launch as a solo campaign late last year. Now, as Riot readies Runeterra to move into 2022, the developer's recent roadmap for the coming months plans to double down on the game's PvE content throughout the year.
Legends of Runeterra Reveals Guardians of the Ancient Expansion With New Animated Video
The video posted to Legends of Runeterra's official YouTube channel features design director Andrew Yip, director of strategy Brett Freeman, and game director Dave Guskin detailing many of the card game's plans for 2022. Guskin reveals plans for the game's popular PvE mode with Riot intending to remake Path of Champions, creating individual campaigns for each Champion based on their in-universe story. New additions to the game mode will also feature unique upgrades for each champion and more liberty given to players when building their deck for the PvE campaign.
