Elden Ring is now available on all supported platforms, but in many ways launch is just an opportunity for the continuation of months of hype. There's a new wave of memes and excitement being shared by From Software fans across social media, as players come together to celebrate all things Elden Ring. Take for example a newly released video shared by 3D artist Hoolopee, a project clearly in the works for some time, that «demakes» one of Elden Ring's cinematic trailers in the style of the original PlayStation.
The video is a recreation of sequences from multiple Elden Ring trailers, featuring both cinematic footage and gameplay. For example, there are multiple sequences of the cinematic showing the shattering of the Elden Ring, but also cinematic gameplay cuts showing mounted exploration, combat, and more. It's all been redone with a PS1 aesthetic, so there are relatively few polygons, low-resolution textures, and lots of flickering and polygon clipping.

While Hoolopee certainly captures the aesthetic of PS1-era games, their version of Elden Ring is also anything but. The video they'e created is beautiful and richly detailed in a way the original PlayStation console could never have managed. Their attention to detail is clear, as is the amount of work that must have gone into making each scene.
If the video comes across as more than what one artist could manage, that's because it's true. In a message on Twitter, Hoolopee says that they hired other 3D artists to help on the new video, something they were able to do with the funding they receive from Patreon.
