The Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 update added a number of exciting changes to the game, such as cooking and Brewster, but it also improved villager interactions as well. Most of these major features received a prominent role in the trailers or even their own separate video. While briefly mentioned, some players might not know that the update also introduced new interactions with the villagers on their island. Periodically, fans may be visited by a resident or invited to their house for a special dialogue and a chance to earn a clothing item.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons limits 10 villagers to an island, leading many players to curate the NPCs that they invite to live with them. Each resident can have one of eight personality types, these being: Lazy, Normal, Peppy, Jock, Cranky, Snooty, Sisterly, and Smug. Animal Crossing: New Horizons now has a total of 413 characters to choose from. As such, fans tend to build special bonds with the residents they have invited and enjoy the qualities that they bring to their community. By talking to villagers in different locations, the characters will have different reactions as they describe their surroundings or island life. While most of the time these conversations are rather basic, the latest major update made Animal Crossing: New Horizons more interactive.

Occasionally when at home, villagers will visit unannounced and look around a player's room. If fans choose to spend time with their resident, they can experience some unique dialogue specific to the character.
