The last big battle for My Hero Academia's spinoff series, Vigilantes, has finally come to an end, leaving the story with just a few loose ends to wrap up before closing the book on Koichi and friends for good. For Koichi himself, that means his career as a Spider-Man-style vigilante in Japan is over--but the career opportunity of a lifetime may mean his days of saving people aren't over quite yet.
Set before the main My Hero Academia story, Vigilantes has followed heroes outside of U.A., focussing specifically on Koichi, an unlicensed hero known as «The Crawler» in the fictional Tokyo neighborhood of Naruhata. It's a grungier, more brutal side of the hero game--Koichi's injuries are comparable to Deku's, but he doesn't have the magical healing abilities of Recovery Girl to get him back in fighting shape, nor the support items of a pro to protect him. The fight to save Naruhata has seen Koichi going up (indirectly) against All for One and even working alongside America's then-#1 hero, Captain Celebrity, as well as some familiar pros from the main series like All Might, Eraser Head, Endeavor, and Midnight. All Might himself made a dramatic final appearance just a few chapters ago, cleaning up the battlefield in an impressive display as Koichi's face-off with his big nemesis, the Nomu Number Six, came to an end on its own.
