Achilles: Legends Untold is an action RPG that allows players to upgrade their gear for better weapons and armor. Though a few people may consider Achilles: Legends Untold to be a Souslike game, it has more RPG and adventure elements that accompany modern top-down games. Despite the simplicity of the game's crafting and upgrade system, it's important for players to improve their weapons and armor as frequently as possible as they attempt to conquer Troy as Achilles.
One of the features of the Achilles: Legends Untold crafting system is that all armor and weapons need to be upgraded. Unlike armor and upgrades in Monster Hunter Stories 2 and similar RPGs, players can find weapons and gear throughout the game, though the number of items they'll be able to locate isn't as numerous as they are in games like Diablo. Additionally, the gear that they will find is at lower levels and will need to be upgraded. Everything is tied into the simplistic crafting system, and the weapons that players choose to upgrade along the way will determine their playstyle with Achilles.

In order to upgrade weapons and armor in Achilles: Legends Untold, players will need to visit Hephaestus when they've gathered enough materials to increase the gear's tier. Hephaestus, much like the god of fire in Greek mythology, serves as the game's blacksmith and can upgrade Achilles' gear when players have enough raw materials such as Bronze and Fate. Players can farm more materials for upgrades and gear crafting by exploring every corner of the game and defeating as many enemies as they find, and they'll need to do so in order to get the highest quality of gear.
