It’s been five months to the day that we last got an update for CD Projekt RED’s divisive Cyberpunk 2077. And it wasn’t even all that major. The last announcement to come from the developer occurred in October 2021, where we were told not to expect an update for some time. Well, CD Projekt RED wasn’t kidding. However, it looks like we’ve reached the end of the hiatus. A Cyberpunk 2077 news update is coming in hot tomorrow via livestream, and no, we don’t know what it entails.
The livestream will take place tomorrow on the developer’s Twitch page. Details are sparse, but we’ve been assured the developer is there to “talk things, y’know.” Preem? Yes, preem. It cracks off at 10 AM ET, so prepare for excitement, or disappointment, or maybe both. I’m sure it’ll be preem either way.
While one certainly hopes the Cyberpunk 2077 livestream unveils more updates, you have to wonder about the DLC. Outside of some free bits here and there, the company has been utterly silent on the promised ‘Witcher-like expansions.’ Though successful, both with sales and its intriguing story, Cyberpunk 2077 had some issues. And that’s saying it lightly. It’s been more than a year, and CD Projekt RED has focused mostly on damage control, releasing staggeringly large patches to fix everything broken.
At the moment, it’s hard to say if players would be more interested in patches or content. Having both wouldn’t be a bad thing, but chances are high the company will reveal the next-gen console versions.
So, choom, how 'bout a date? We'll talk things, y'know.
You're in? Preem!
Let's meet tomorrow, Feb 15th, at 4PM CET, at the usual place: https://t.co/y8iUIM0gBv.
