Focus Entertainment and Asobo Studio revealed APlague Tale: Requiem during last year’s E3 2021. The direct sequel to 2019’s A Plague Tale: Innocence, the stealth survival game, continues the story of the 14th-century teenager Amicia de Rune as she tries to protect her little brother Hugo from the agents of the French Inquisition.
A Plague Tale: Requiem now has a specific release date, hitting stores and digital retailers on October 18th. This announcement came at the end of A Plague Tale: Requiem’s extended gameplay trailer, released today.
A Plague Tale: Requiem Presentation Shows New Gameplay and Cutscene Footage
Focus shared a gameplay trailer for A Plague Tale: Requiem during the Microsoft/Bethesda Showcase on June 12th. It showed Requiem’s more action-focused approach to stealth and how the violence is starting to affect Amicia’s personality. Today’s trailer focuses on one of the several locations shown last week, offering up more than ten minutes of nearly uninterrupted gameplay. It also offered fans clues about the story, revealing that the kids are searching for a mysterious island somewhere in the Mediterranean.
Requiem’s latest trailer opens with a scene of A Plague Tale’s Amicia and Hugo playing on a swing as they talk about the future. It’s a wholesome moment between the two siblings, contrasting the violence that’s come to dominate their lives. The pair then make their way to a traveling monk who might be able to help with their quest. Unfortunately, their meeting is interrupted by a group of soldiers hunting for Amicia and her brother.
