A new Xbox Series X/S wireless controller has seemingly leaked ahead of an official announcement.
According to ever-reliable dataminer billbil-kun, Microsoft will release the Xbox Wireless Controller – Sky Cipher Special Edition in August.
Writing on Dealabs, they claimed it’s a blue controller with a transparent finish that reveals some of the internal components located on the front side, similar the Forza Horizon 5 controller released in 2021 (pictured).
The Xbox Sky Cipher controller is expected to be officially revealed on July 31, when pre-orders will open ahead of its release next month, “most likely” on August 13.
It’s claimed that the controller will cost $69.99 in the United States and €69.99 in France, with a £64.99 price tag anticipated in the UK.
During June’s Xbox Games Showcase, Microsoft officially announced its long-anticipated digital-only Xbox Series X.
The white, discless 1TB console will be released this holiday season, alongside a white 1TB Xbox Series S and a special edition 2TB ‘Galaxy Black’ Xbox Series X with a disc tray.
Microsoft recently made a final wave of price reductions on digital Xbox 360 games, ahead of the closure of the console’s online marketplace this month.
Although users will still be able to redownload their previous purchases for the foreseeable future, after July 29 it will no longer be possible to buy any more games or DLC from the Xbox 360 Marketplace.
