A Metroid Prime remaster is officially coming to Switch today
Nintendo has officially announced a Metroid Prime remaster for Nintendo Switch – and it’s releasing today.
Announced during a Nintendo Direct broadcast on Thursday, the classic GameCube shooter will be re-released digitally on the Nintendo eShop today, with a physical version schedule for February 22.
According to Nintendo, the remastered version of the game features HD visuals and enhanced sound.
Metroid Prime remasters have been reportedly coming for years, with one recognised insider claiming last November that Prime 1’s remaster was already completed in 2021 and ready to release.
The Metroid series is currently enjoying a small resurgence following the successful release of Metroid Dread last year.
In Japan, the game outsold the life-to-date sales of nearly every other Metroid game in the series in just its first week, and it enjoyed the best ever launch for a Metroid game in the UK.
