Sony has launched a God of War Ragnarök trial for PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers.
At the time of publishing, the trial only appears to be available in North America, but we’d expect it to be rolled out in other regions too and we’ve asked Sony if that’s the plan.
The trial offers PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers the chance to play the full PS4 and PS5 game for three hours.
Ahead of Ragnarök’s release, Sony said 2018’s God of War reboot was one of the biggest titles ever released exclusively for PlayStation, with 23 million sales, and that it expected a similar performance from its sequel.
Sony claimed this month that God of War Ragnarök sales surpassed 11 million copies in the first 10 weeks after its November 2022 release, “making it the fastest-selling first-party title ever”.

In a new interview, God of War Ragnarök’s narrative director said that at one point protagonist Kratos was going to have a very different fate in the game.
February’s PlayStation Plus Essential games launched last week. OlliOlli World (PS5/PS4), Mafia Definitive Edition (PS4), Evil Dead: The Game (PS5/PS4) and Destiny 2: Beyond Light (PS5/PS4 DLC) are available for members to claim until March 6.
Sony has announced that the PlayStation Plus Collection will be pulled in May. Launched in 2020, the collection includes 19 PS4 games which PlayStation Plus subscribers can claim and play on PS5 at no extra charge.
