The teaser trailer for Let the Right One In offers the first look at a new vampire story based on the classic Swedish work. John Ajvide Lindqvist's novel of the same name became a highly-acclaimed film in 2008, followed by a poorly received American remake in 2010 called Let Me In. Showtime ordered a TV adaptation last year, with Oscar nominee Demián Bichir leading the series as the father of a young vampire girl who must feed on blood to survive.
Now, Showtime unveils the official trailer, which contains reveals the series will premiere on October 7, 2022. The footage opens with Madison Taylor Baez as the vampire, Eleanor, having likely just fed due to the blood on her mouth. Bichir's Mark speaks over a few tense scenes, saying, "We've only stayed alive by knowing when to run." The following scenes depict Mark caring for his daughter and several characters in dangerous situations. Check out the trailer below:

Mark's dialogue confirms the setup for Showtime's adaptation, which sees the family moving to a new area to escape persecution because of Eleanor's vampiric nature. The trailer also shows Ian Foreman's Isaiah with Eleanor, the series' version of Oskar and Eli from the source material. The two will likely have a similar relationship as their book counterparts, though Isaiah's mother, a detective, raises the stakes for Mark and Eleanor. Additional dialogue suggests that the family will look for the vampire who turned Eleanor, which could be the other creature revealed at the end of the thrilling Let the Right One In teaser.
