Chinese 90 Day Fiancé star Johnny is worried that his girlfriend Ella Johnson will find a new man if he doesn’t risk everything to meet her in Dubai. Anime-loving 29-year-old Ella found her Asian prince in Johnny, a 34-year-old single father from Jinan, and has been chatting with him for almost two years. The 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days couple planned for Johnny to come to visit Ella in America, but COVID-19 played the villain in the relationship. Ella decided to push Johnny into meeting midway (in Dubai) for two weeks instead, but that would require him to spend five weeks in quarantine after the trip. Johnny is hesitant but Ella doesn’t want to wait forever, and has threatened him with an “open relationship.”
At first, Ella was called out for her “Asian obsession” and tone-deaf comments about Asian culture. On the other hand, Johhny was accused of being into Ella because of his plus-size women fetish. However, over time, Ella and Johnny’s B90 relationship has become much more complicated. She is wondering if he is serious about the relationship as he refuses to fly out of China, citing COVID-19 as the reason. Johnny explained to Ella that with the Delta wave in the U.S. at the time, his flying there was risky, and if he tested positive, he would go bankrupt due to the cost of hospitalization. However, Ella doesn’t seem to consider COVID-19 a valid enough reason for Johnny to be cautious about traveling, even though his family (consisting of elderly parents and a young son) is financially dependent on him.
