Following Rockstar Games' recent announcement of a Grand Theft Auto Online subscription service, players have planned a boycott campaign for March 29. Rockstar unveiled GTA Online's all-new membership program late last week, attaching the label of GTA+ to it. The service kicks off today, March 29, and invites players to $5.99 per month to receive exclusive in-game rewards which range from a monthly deposit of GTA$500,000 into the Maze Bank account to waived LS Car Meet Membership fees.
Akin to the Fallout 1st subscription for Fallout 76 before it, fans did not respond well to the GTA+ news. Rockstar Games' official social media posts were flooded with negative reactions from those balking at the idea of paying more for content that already costs a premium. Some users also took the opportunity to once more criticize Rockstar's and publisher Take-Two Interactive's constant milking of Grand Theft Auto Online, especially in the face of dwindling interest in Red Dead Online's scant offerings. Since the companies won't budge on the matter, a group of players has teamed up to inspire a new campaign within the community.

Running the boycott the same day as the subscription service's launch seems a shrewd move, but there's no way of knowing how many players actually plan on participating. At the very least, the boycott will get people talking. The Reddit post in question reads as follows:
