Ben earned himself a reputation among fans as a so-called predator after he found Mahogany in Peru, even though she asked him not to visit her. Despite this, Ben continued to pursue her and insisted that God wanted them to be together. He further cemented his reputation as a franchise creep when he showed up to the Tell-All. He told his fellow Before the 90 Days season 5 cast member Kimberly Menzies that aggressive women are unattractive to him, as he said men enjoy pursuing women like lions enjoy hunting gazelles. Ben insisted that the chase is more fun when the women show resistance, which led to Ben being labeled misogynistic.
