This week, in the penultimate chapter of Secrets of the First Ones, 9.2's main storyline, we take part in something quite remarkable that has us asking the question: In World of Warcraft, What makes a God?

A Vessel and a SoulLast week, at the urging of the Oracle Saezurah, we helped reclaim an empty vessel — one with a special purpose. This week, we learned that purpose. The vessel is used to create a new Arbiter of the Shadowlands. We help Saezurah transport the vessel to the Eternal Crypts, which holds many great and powerful souls. The intention is to use a ritual to merge one of these souls with the Vessel, creating our new Arbiter. As Pelagos points out, this immediately raises questions. If this is where the Arbiter was made, then who sent these souls here? And if these souls can be used to create a new Artiber, can they be used to make other beings as well?

Argus the UnmakerUnfortunately, the ritual goes wrong when Dreadlords show up, infusing the vessel with the soul of Argus, and also confirming that it was this same world soul, infused with Death magic, that broke the Arbiter in the first place.
