Digimon Survive is the latest title in the series' sprawling number of games after several years without a new entry, and it brings together some of its most recognizable and popular Digimon alongside new faces and characters. Though it has received a mixed response from fans, certain elements of its design broke new ground, including its dedication to player agency and enhancement of its storyline, complete with darker tones and even game-changing permanent deaths. With its stakes raised, Digimon Survive threw players directly into the challenge of keeping their favorite characters alive.
Many Digimon didn't make it into Digimon Survive given the series' extensive breadth of monsters it can choose from across the digidex, but even some of the more popular Digimon from the series didn't make the cut. While reasons might range from similarity to other playable monsters to a lack of direct appeal for their inclusion, some fans wonder whether the game might receive further expansion or DLC down the line to add even greater diversity to its current roster.
Every Digimon Available in Digimon Survive
Agumon is arguably the most iconic and consequently most popular Digimon of all time from the series, and so its inclusion in Digimon Survive was to be expected. However, one of Agumon's many digivolutions, GeoGreymon, doesn't appear in the game despite being popularized by the Digimon Data Squad series. It's likely that GeoGreymon wasn't included because Greymon already was in the game, and rather than complicate digivolution further for players, developer Hyde decided to keep things straightforward. It does mean that some of Agumon's possible digivolved forms aren't accessible though in Digimon Survive.
